Dei Nagar Palika is the Urban Local Body (ULB) responsible for the civic administration and infrastructure management of Dei town, situated in Nainwa Tehsil, Bundi District, Rajasthan. Recognized as a Nagar Palika through a formal notification dated 19 April 2023 by the Department of Local Self Government, Rajasthan, Dei transitioned from being the largest Gram Panchayat in the district to an urban municipal council to better address the growing population and development needs of the region.
This transformation marks an important milestone in the town’s administrative and civic evolution — from rural governance to structured urban development under the Rajasthan Municipalities Act.
Legal Constitution
Dei Nagar Palika was constituted as per Notification No. प.10(गृ.पा.)(वि.शे.)एलएसजी/2023/693, dated 19/04/2023, under the powers conferred by the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 2009. The entire revenue boundary of Gram Panchayat Dei, comprising a total population of 12,884 residents, has been officially included within the municipal limits.
The formation was approved under urban body reorganization, following recommendations from the Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme and other urbanization policy frameworks.
